Williamsburg Native Italian Earth Oil Colors

We are now offering an exciting new line of traditional native Italian earth colors. While these have always made our siennas with premium Italian pigments, these particular earths are scarce and used primarily by art conservators. They are the very same pigments used by the great Sienese and Florentine masters. All are authentic and come from the regions of Italy made famous by these pigments. Unfortunately, because these colors are difficult to get, we cannot absolutely guarantee availability. Please call us at 800-293-9399 before ordering to insure that we have them in stock. 	#24 Italian Raw Sienna Natural Iron Oxide - PY43 This is the beautiful semi-transparent golden Italian Earth used by the Renaissance masters. The slight gritty quality allows for exquisite undertones.
	#14 Lemon Ochre Natural Iron Oxide - PY43 A light clear bright yellow. Almost too luminous to call ochre. It glows like the Italian light.
	#15 Yellow Ochre Natural Iron Oxide - PY43 Rich, clean, and brilliant. One is reminded of Sassetta's landscapes or Renaissance illuminated manuscripts.
	#16 Orange Ochre Natural Iron Oxide - PY43 A very beautiful deep ochre. The depth is evident in the reddish undertones as opposed to a brownish quality. Genuine Flesh Ochre.
	#17 Green Ochre Natural Iron Oxide - PBr7 A wonderful color like fresh rattan or tobacco leaves. Not like terra-verte, but a musky, greenish gold.
	#18 Pompeii Red Natural Iron Oxide - PR102 The true, intense, brilliant red of ancient Italian frescoes. Hot, glowing, and luminous.
	#19 Rosso Veneto Natural Iron Oxide - PR102 Mined in the Veneto region, a true Venetian red with no orange undertones. a clean, cool, pinkish quality.
	#20 Pozzuoli Earth Natural Iron Oxide - PR102 Warmer than Rosso Veneto with some orange undertones - earthy and rich. Favored by Uccello.
	#13 Terra Verte Natural Iron Oxide - PG23 The true Brentonica earth. Semi-transparent, slightly gritty, with a velvet-like, soft, light-absorbing surface. A delicate green. Not an opaque, olive or yellowish green. Giorgione's green.
	#21 Terra Rosa Natural Iron Oxide - PR102 Similar to Pozzuoli Earth, but stronger and earthier. The orange undertone becomes quite pronounced.
	#23 Italian Burnt Sienna Natural Iron Oxide - PR102 Higher pitched and somewhat brighter than our other Burnt Sienna - also, it's slightly warmer.
	#25 Italian Raw Umber At one time we were able to get what we considered to be a "perfect" raw umber. Unfortunately the main facility in Cyprus burned down. 	#22 Black Roman Earth Natural Iron Oxide - PBlk11 A semi-transparent blackish earth that acts like Cassell earth though cooler and blacker. It is the blackest natural earth we've seen. Wonderful for mixing and perfect for glazing. Very subtle. Great pigment for wash drawings. Better than bitumen or asphaltum.
